Short term bleeding, brownish in color lasting just 2-3 hours instead of periods. Is this pregnancy symptom?

i am 24 and my girl friend is 18 . she got periods after every 26 days . and periods continue till 3 days . but this month she is 2 days late on her period schedule . she get brown period this time on her schedule just for only 2 3 hours and then stoped . and its 2 days late still no periods .. is she pregnent ? or some other reasons .

There could be a lot of reasons for the altered bleeding pattern.
Sometimes its a normal variation for some women.
An early pregnancy, a failed pregnancy or an ectopic pregnancy could present this way.
Apart from that, thyroid disorders, polycystic ovaries or endometrial lesions could be a cause.
Common reasons are stress, anxiety, frequent travelling, emotional trauma, recent changes in weight , ingestion of hormonal medications etc.
