Shiner On The Eye (black Eye) With Some Streaming After An Injury. How To Hasten The Recovery?

Monday night while I was at tennis drills, I got hit (really hard) by another player who slammed a serve right into the right side of my head (temple area). He was on the other side of court so it came in fast. Ice pack was immediately put on it. It wasn't until Wednesday morning that a beautiful shiner on the lid of my right eye and around the corner of it, streaming down a little underneath appeared. I was shocked at the sight. Today is Friday and it seems to be getting fainter but still very tender and purple. Is there anything I can do to help it along?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your eye on the court. The best course of action would be to take pain medications (Ibuprofen/Tylenol)for pain control and allow healing to occur. This should not be more than 7-10days for you to have noticed a significant improvement. Also, continue applying the ice packs for more relief.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
