Sharp Pulsating Pain In Neck, Shoulders, Back. Reason For Pain?
i have been having a sharp pulsing pain the left side of my neck for the pass 4 days. Plus over the past 2 days I have been to the doctors and the emergency room over this and they say its nothing, But i also feel a sharp pain in both sholders and down my spin.. what could this be from. the only injury i have had to my back was i fell on my neck when i fell off a deck about 9 years ago.
Acute neck and shoulder pain without any other associated symptoms is often caused by poor positioning of the head and neck most especially during sleep. It can also be the case when we have to sit upright and don't adopt a good posture. We should always strive to sit upright for best vertebral column hygiene.
I will suggest that you monitor this pain over a few days. For now, you may consider having some pain medications. If the symptoms should get worse of stay the same or new ones develop, then you should go to the hospital to make sure there is nothing abnormal going on. I don't think at this time that the injury is at the origin of this pain though should not be totally disregarded.
I hope you find this useful and informative. If you have more questions, please ask us and we shall gladly provide answers. I wish you good health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
