Sharp Pain Outside Thigh. History Of Being Born With HDD. X-ray Shows Signs Of Arthritis. Treatment?

Hi,I am recently experiencing a sharp pain outside of my tigh which has made me being stuck in bed. I was born with HDD,and now at 42 my xray shows slight signs of arthritis.I do not know what is the reason of this pain. May be I have put an extra pressure on my hip by biking. Do you recommend any treatment? medicine? please advise me.

Hi,

The outer thigh pain can be due to improper stretching before exercise. What you should do is warm the area and then stretch the muscles. The muscles in that area are the gluteus which are strong powerful muscles. If they are not stretched, the pain is excruciating. If stretching does not help, then I suggest that you consult a orthopedician. I hope this helps you.
