Sharp Pain On Left Side Of Upper Body, Pain Is Located Around Ribs Close To Left Armpit. Causes?

Hi, I have a sharp pain on the left side of my upper body. I have had this pain since yesterday at an event and was told by the xxxx to go to the hospital. I went to the hospital to get all sorts of tests and they all came clear. The pain is located around my ribs and close to my left armpit. Do you know what it could be?

Thank you for posting your query.



First of all, I would like to reassure that there is no need to worry, more so, as all the tests came as normal.



The most likely cause of pain in the location described is musculo-skeletal in nature. This is due to inflammation or spasm in the muscles/underlying ribs.



Treatment is mainly symptomatic with analgesics such as ibuprofen or diclofenac tablets.
