Severe Throat Pain, Fever. Took Painkillers. Treatment?

Hello Doctors!

Since a day I experience severe throatache, so severe I didn't know it was possible. I've had also a fever yesterday and was therefore too weak to go to the doctor. Today the fever is gone, but the pain remains the same (unbearable) and no painkillers, however strong, help. Can you give me some advice, pls...until I go and see a doctor? Thank you so much.

Hi,

You can take a over the counter available pain killer for a day or two - (two per day) till you get doctor's appointment. Meanwhile, use lozenges (four per day) and gargle with warm saline solution (salt water). Continue eating soft diets.

Sreenivasan
