Severe Sticky Mouth, Bad Sinus Infection, Pinched Sciatic Nerve

I have a severe sticky mouth , and white back part of tounge this has became very bothersome within the last 4-5 months Here is a list of things I have been through this year prior to loss of taste and smell teeth extracted jan 4th 2013, extremely bad sinus infection in late march, pinched sciatic nerve in April, for which I was taking 60 mg a day of prednisone for almost 2 months , and also 900 mg a day of neurontin . I now have lost my taste and smell and have seen both family dr and ENT . Neither has said positively why I lost my taste or smell, I have problem swallowing food as it seems to stick to the roof of my mouth and after gumming the food it becomes gummy and sticky feeling which causes me to want to spit it out . Note I ahve not been able to wear denture to eat with as they come loose and fall out I have had relines done in July , they still would not hold long enough to chew food with even using adhesives Also my tonsils has been infected white spot removed from left tonsil, ENT took byopsy said non cancer . Now my right tonsil is getting a white spot too. My family Dr originally treated me for 3 weeks for a oral yeast infection I asked ENT about yeast infection He said Possibly that is whatI had. But offered no advise or recommendation to ease my dry sticky mouth.Or loss of taste and smell I also have been using biotene mouth rinse, It does not seem to help much if at all. I also have noticed dry eyes and I was also told in May I had emphezema signs showing in lungs. I also am coughing up gritty feeling phlegm after eating and my lips seems sticky too but I was just reading about sjogren,s syndrome and was wondering if I might possibly have that. Any advise would be greatly appreciated Even if I knew what kind of Dr to go see, I just seem to be at a dead end with this problem thou as Family DR and ENT both doesn t seem concerned at all with my situation Thanks for your time to read and answer

Hello,

Severe sticky, smelly mouth may be due to high mucous secretion of saliva or due to poor oral hygiene maintenance.

I would advice you to get a thorough scaling done.

Also evaluate consistency of saliva and get it treated.
Always maintain oral hygiene well.

Rinse your mouth after every meals.

Brush and floss your teeth as well as tongue daily.

Regarding sinusitis, please do visit an E N T Specialist and get it treated.

Hope this helps.
