Hi thanks for your question.
You under went anal sphincterotomy for anal fissure without any relief and symptoms of pain are still persistent.
There are many causes of pain and burning of rectum other than anal fissur for example solitary rectal ulcer, proctatitis(inflammation of rectum) and ulcerative colitis.
To rule out or confirm any of above disease as cause of your symptom you need sigmoidoscopy/colonoscop,for which you need to consult a physician specialist.Hope this answers your question.

dear darkchowdhury, without examination we can not say much the problem of burning sensation may due to inflammation of rectum which worse after defecation . why don't you get a second opinion by another surgeon of visit any medical college where a team of doctors is always available. so you will get different opinions in one campus and your suffering of 8 years will come to end.
