Severe Hair Fall. How To Get Relief?

Hi! I am a male, 20 years old. I have figured out that I have had a massive hairfall since 2 years as I live in a hostel. My hair has become very thin and they fall at an alarming rate every passing day. I really want to seek your advice on how to protect them. I am avoiding too much shampooing, but the primary concern is that my hostel s running water is hard and I have no other option but to have a bath in there. This is because I live in a residential university and its on the outskirts. So I have no access to other means like having a bath from mineral water or so. Please advise me on what to do as I am starting to feel a very heavy difference in these 2 years. My pictures say that too. Since I turned 20 this year, its a concern and quite disappointing. Please email me as soon as you can, doctor. Thank you Email ID - YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
You probably must be having male pattern hair loss.
It is usually hereditary.
You can confirm the diagnosis with a scalp biopsy.
There are medications available like topical minoxidil and oral finasteride and dutasteride which are very effective in male pattern hair loss.
Alternatively, there are many surgical options also available like hair transplantation.
You can consult your Dermatologist for confirmation of diagnosis and prescription of medications.
For hair transplantation, you may have to consult a cosmetic surgeon.
