Severe Gastro Issues, Sharp Pains From Bottom Of Heart To Sternum On Burping, Heart Tests Normal. Is This Gas Pain?
I have so gastro issuses. Whenever I feel the nee to burp I get quick sharp pains from the bottom of my heart to the bottom of my sternum. Is this gas pains. No heart problems at all. Have done all the texts up to a cardio cath. They suggested my sphincter might no have the right pressure but no matter how many tests they did I still thinks its my heart all the time.
All your symptoms could be due to gastroenterologic problems. To find out exactly why you have those symptoms you need to get further gastro studies if you haven't yet. Your gastroenterologist can further assess which ones you need, but usually work up starts with an upper endoscopy to see if you have reflux and / or esophagitis. Then an "esophageal manometry" can be done, which measures the contractions of your esophagus, which when they are too strong they can cause pain that can be confused with cardiac pain.
hope that helps.
