Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Severe Discomfort In Stomach Post Flu, Was Diagnosed With GERD Earlier. What Does It Indicate?
I have beendiagnosed with GERD two years ago I have taken lansaprozole, I have tried home remedies such as aloe vera juice, apple cider vinegar, papaya extracts but I still have bad stomach pains most of the time, it feels like after you have the flu for three days my stomach always feels full no matter hhow little I eat. I am not over weight and I excercis a lot. When I go to a doctor they tell me there is nothing wrong but I still feel sick to my stomach all the time
Thanks for your query. If you indeed have clinical symptoms consistent with reflux, and you are compliant with your medication without skipped doses, then you would probably benefit from an upper endoscopy (first time or repeat procedure) since the vast majority of patients improve on such medications, and complications such as hernia, ulcers, etc need to be ruled out.
Hope that helps, wish you the best,
