Severe Cough With Mucus, Yellow Tongue, Chest, Stomach Pain After Having Tobacco Pie
Hello, My name s Ramish and I m a 17 yr old male Medical student. Yesterday my friends and I had a sheesha (tobacco pipe) and since then I ve had severe coughs and my chest hurts a lot too. I smoke cigarettes too but this is the first time I ve had a cough so bad. The mucus in my throat has been insane too. I ve been spitting it out since the morning. My tongue also has a yellow colored pattern on it. Again, this is the First time this has ever happened. My back has started to ache now and so has my abdomen. I ve been taking a regular Levofaxin tablet and a mild painkiller for my throat pains. Would appreciate a quick reply :)

Do consult your Doctor urgently ,especially if you have fever,& discus the need to start Oseltamivir ( Fluvir ) to protect you against H1N1 ( Swine Flu), in a dose of 75 mg twice daily x 5 days.
If the chest hurts at the end of a deep breath , you could have an infection of the covering of the lungs ( Pleura).If the pain is behind the Breast bone, it is likely to be a Bronchial infection ( Bronchitis)
The cough is more likely to be due to some irritant in the Hookah smoke, which is not present in cigarettes. Do frequent steam inhalation ( without any additives), STOP smoking, your Doctor may prescribe a cough Syrup containing Codeinae, which gives pain relief also, if he thinks this is appropriate. do not take this without consulting a competent Doctor.
