Severe Constipation, Difficulty Passing Stools. Haemorrhoids Surgery, Laproscopic Rectal Prolapse Done. Treatment?

Hi, I am 32 year old female. I underwent two surgeries one for hemoroids and other laproscopic rectal prolapse . And from that time, I am not passing motions regularly. Some time I dont even pass motion for around 4 days and then some times I pass motion but which is not clear. I started taking a tablet for clearing motion on weekly basis, which gives me relief. What do you suggest. Thanks

Hello Elisha and thanks for writing in
These kinds of symptoms occur mainly due to wrong bowel habits or constipation. To get rid from this please follows some instructions:
1. Eat fibre-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables like papaya, orange, cabbage, beans, asparagus etc.
2. Chew food properly so that it will be easily digestible.
3. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water regularly. This will prevent dehydration thereby producing softer bowel movements.
4. Eat plenty of leafy vegetables and salads.
5. Develop the habit of bowel evacuation early morning every day.
6. Do regular exercise al least 5 days per week
7. Avoid smoking and alcoholism and also avoid drinking strong coffee/tea, fried and spicy food.
8. Take mild laxative if stools is not regular.
Try to have a tension free and relaxed mind. You can take antacids and mild laxatives.
Hope this will help you.
Best Wishes
