Severe Cold, Rashes. On Omnacortil. What Would Be The Side Effects?

My baby who is 3 yrs 11 months old had severe cold in Aug-Sept. for which her doctor had prescribed Omnacortil tablets 15mg dosage was for 5 days. Her cold and cough settled but now last 8 days she has developed a rash on her body starting with her wrist and not spreading to her thigh and torso. Her doctor has prescribed her Omnacortil Forte 15mg. What would be the after effects and is it advisable to give her at this age. Please advise.

Hi dear,

Welcome to the HCM,

Omnacortil helps in settling very severe type of inflammation in the body.
If the child is having very severe type of lung infection and inflammation then omna helps in reducing the symptoms little quickly , thus reducing the suffering of the baby fast.
Mere giving for 4-5 days of omnacortil is not going to have much noticeable side effect. It is justifiable to use it occasionally (not frequently ) to utilize its beneficial effect in such emergencies.
