Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Burning sensation in the upper region of mouth can be because of pain radiating from the infected tooth.
It is also seen in a condition called burning mouth syndrome which is associated with dry mouth, metallic taste, tingling and numbness of the mouth.

I suggest you to go through the complete dental examination .
Get an x-ray of the tooth.
Probably you have to go for root canal treatment of the tooth.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.
Drink lots of water.
Avoid eating hot and spicy food .
Take vitamin suplements like vitamin B12
Relieve depression and anxiety if any.

Hope this helps out.

hello there ,

Burning sensation in the mouth is caused due to several reasons like inflammation of the oral mucosa caused by consuming hot and spicy food stuffs , consumption of alcohol , smoking , tobacco chewing . so if you have any of these habits please discontinue them .

ulcerations of the oral mucosa may also lead to burning sensation , you can apply antiseptic oral ointment like dentogel topically over the inflammed or ulcerated area which will make you feel better.

mouth rinsing with lukewarm saline water or antiseptic mouthwash like chorhexidine or betadine also helps in giving soothing effect reducing the burning sensation.

infected and decayed teeth if any can be treated by root canal procedure after an x ray examination .

i hope this helps ,

take care.
