Severe Burning In The Vagina And Anus. Normal Pap Smear Report. Yeast Infection?

I have had severe burning in the vagina and anus for over 5 months. I have seen 2 doctors and they have found nothing irregular in blood tests and pap smears. I am 37 years old and have 2 children. It does not feel like a yeast infection , there is no itching, but a rawness. The burning is worse before and after my period.

Hello ma'am.

Your symptoms could be associated with that of an infection.

You have mentioned blood tests and a pap smear. But your doctor could have conducted a few more specific tests, based on your presentation.

If you do not mind, I would like to recommend a urine culture and sensitivity examination and a vaginal swab test.

These investigations will provide concrete information on the cause.

Other factors like dehydration, blood sugar levels, etc; can also cause a similar presentation like yours. So once infections have been ruled out, these should be considered.

You could consume more amounts of water in the meantime and abstain from all forms of sexual contact (if you are indeed sexually active).

Hope this helps.

Take care.
