Severe Bruising On Thighs, Body Itching, Cough, Phlegm. Treatment?

Hi , I have severe bruising on my thighs and they were not there this morning. I had itching all over my body today and I scratched the area, but not hard enough to bruise. I'm also suffering from a cough and Phlem right now. The only change I made recently was to go gluten and grain free. The bruising scarede because it is very shocking and severe.

Hi,

You are having generalised pruritus and eccymoses.

There are many causes of pruritus and ecchymoses.

Dry skin( xerosis), internal diseases like anaemia, DM, renal diseases, hepatic diseases, thyroid dysfunctions...etc should be kept in mind. And accordingly the blood tests should be done to find out the cause.

Bruises..ecchymises suggest purpuric skin disease. It may be due to simple scratching or due to some disease... Blood diseases or vascular diseases or connective tissue diseases. All should be ruled out by blood tests.

And therefore, you must consult dermatologist to come to final conclusion.

Oral antihistaminics and short course of steroids in tapperin doses may alleviate pruritus.

Oral vitamin C and K would be helpful for bruise.

Application of soothing lotion and mild steroid may improve the condition.

Avoid soap bath.

Avoid stress and worries.

For having cough , you consult physician. There may be lung or throat infection.

Go ahead with the help of nearby dermatologist.

I hope you will be alright.

Thanks.
