Sensitive While Passing Urine, Traces Of Blood On Tissue. Symptoms Of Bladder Infection?
Hi, I can t get to my gp until tuesday or wednesday after bank holiday but pretty sure I have a bladder infection , ultra sensitive when I urinate and I feel my bladder hasn t empited properly. I m concerned though as when I wipe there is faint traces of blood on the tissue . Does that normally happen with a bladder infection? I don t have any abdominal pain .

Hello,
Thanks for coming to HCM. Uninary tract infection can cause red colored urine. You need to take antibiotics which might require doctor's prescription based on your location. You can take Uristat which is available over the counter (please note, it turns urine color to orange which is normal). It can treat symptoms but does not cure infection and you will still need antibiotics. Consult pharmacist if you have kidney problem or you are allergic to phenazopyridine.
You should take plenty of fluids, unsweetened cranberry juice, pineapple, and vitamin C.
Please ensure you take full course of antibiotics even if symptoms disappear.
