Semen Analysis Shows 40 To 50 Percent Dead Motility. Normal?

hello, i want to know about the my semen analysis report is normal or not.
Semen analysis Report
Total Volume - 3.0 ml
Colour - Milky white
total count - 34 million
Epithelial cell - Nil
Pus Cell - 2 to 4
Rbcs - nil
Reaction - Alkaline
Motility
A Active - 30 to 40 %
B Sluggish - 8 to 10%
c Dead - 40 to 50 %
If, not normal, then kindly give the better advice.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The interpretation of your semen report is as follows:

The volume, concentration of sperms in semen, color and pH of semen are normal.
The presence of few epithelial cells is normal in the semen sample.
The other two parameters which are very important in semen analysis are sperm motility and sperm morphology.
The active motility of the sperms should be atleast 50%.
In your case only 30-40 % sperms are actively motile.
The second important parameter is the sperm morphology.
Atleast 50% sperms should have normal morphology.
In your test report, 40-50% sperms are dead.

So, the low motility of sperms can interfere with fertilization of the sperms.
However, the motility is only marginally low.
Good diet can help.
