Seborrheic Dermatitis, Hair Loss. Prescribed Lotion, Gel And Shampoo. Treatment?

Hi doctor, I m 25 years old and i m suffering from seborrheic dermatitis from the past one year. I took treatment for that. The doctor subscribed me a lotion, gel and also a shampoo. I kept my hair short for few weeks and used these prescribed medicines. Somehow the symptoms got reduced in few weeks and so the doctor asked me to quit using the lotion and gel. Still i was using the shampoo to get rid of it completely. Unfortunately the symptoms started occuring again once the hair starts to grow and my hair loss problem is still continuing. Please suggest me a valuable tip for growing healthy hair and for preventing hair loss completely.

Hi

Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a recurring condition. Treatment involves the use of topical medications like antifungal creams and shampoos, limited use of steroid creams, lithium creams, salicylic acid, tar shampoo, retinoids.
In some severe cases oral antifungals can be used.Phototherapy or appropiate sun exposure is also an option because the sun inhibits the bacteria associated with seborrhoeic dermatitis.

In terms of the hair loss, there are different options available that might help such as: the use of antifungal or dandruff shampoos, use of MSM supplements which may be helpful in strenghtening the hair in some persons, use of a supplement or diet with good amounts of biotin, folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, tar shampoos.

I hope this helps you
