Scabbed Skin Near Bellybutton Which Is Pierced, Pus Coming Out. Infection Due To Piercing?

Hi. So I got my bellybutton pierced the end of May. I live in Florida and lay out a lot. The skin right about my actual bellybutton and inbetween the top and bottom of my ring is scabbed and has pus coming out for about a month. I didn't know if I burned it bad that this is happening or if this is an infection from the ring or what. Please help!
