Scab In Hair, Smooth Bald Spot On Scalp. What Is This?
My friends daughter has really thick hair and recently she was doing her hair and noticed a circle size (penny size) scab came out of her hair. Well now its a smooth bald spot on her scalp with no signs of new hair growth. The spot is continuing to spread slightly to the left. Do you have any idea of what this could be?

Hi i think it is alopecia areata or tinea capitis.as scab came ot is only tinea capitis with secondary infection.use of antihistamine.antibiiotic.griseofulvin 250mg daily once with nizral ointment can cure it
