Scab Came Out Of Thick Hair. Bald Spot With No New Hair. What Could It Be?

My friends daughter has really thick hair and recently she was doing her hair and noticed a circle size (penny size) scab came out of her hair. Well now its a smooth bald spot on her scalp with no signs of new hair growth. The spot is continuing to be spread slightly to the left. Do you have any idea of what this could be??

I would suggest you to consult the dermatologist to find out the cause for spreading baldness
thorough physical examination and few basic blood investigations you may need ( hemoglobin, thyroid function tests,)

Normally 25 to 40 hair strands we loose every day while washing/ combing your hair.anything more than that as well as appearance of bald patch needs dermatology consultation

There are many factors which causes hair fall like - dandruff, infection of the scalp, hormonal imbalance ( poly cystic ovary disease), stress, iron deficiency anemia, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disorders, drugs, improper diet , using excessive chemical dyes, shampoos etc,

I would suggest you to take plenty of water every day, take balanced diet, avoid strong shampoos and dyes. Avoid stress by yoga and meditation.wash your hair regularly with mild shampoo.
