Ringing In Ears For Weeks

I have had what I would classify as a moderate ringing in my ears for weeks now. I somehow did not make too much of it and thought it would go away. We have had several family tragedies in these last weeks so I put this off now for about 8 weeks or so. In this last day or so the ringing has been awful and tonight it is the loudest it has ever been...like a constant very loud hearing test in my head.

Ringing in the ears that does not get better or go away is called tinnitus.Tinnitus a symptom of an underlying condition, such as age-related hearing loss, ear injury or a circulatory system disorder.Although bothersome, tinnitus usually isn't a sign of something serious. You may need to see ENT specialist if tinnitus occurs with other symptoms, does not get better or go away, or is in only one ear.Hope this helps.Take care.
