Right Upper Thigh Popped While Doing Splits. Deep Pain In Legs. What To Do?
I did the splits a few weeks ago and on my right upper thigh/butt area I felt a small pop and a ping of pain occurred. It only hurt when I would do the splits but today I stretched and then reinjured it badly. What I did was I kicked my good leg behind me while standing on the bad one. I swung my leg back and twisted outward and I felt/heard a huge pop. Then my hamstring had pain down to my knee and also my right butt cheek. My leg feels like a dull deep pain. I can walk but the longer I do the more it hurts. What did I do? :(
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The popping sensation that you had while doing the exercise is likely to be due to a muscle tear. You need to provide adequate rest to the area. Icing and talking mild pain killers with muscle relaxants will help. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
