Right shoulder sore, burns around shoulder blade, numbness in hand and finger, painful

Whenever my right arm or hand is used too much, my right shoulder becomes sore, and burns along the shoulder blade, the hand and fingers will also feel numb. This has been going on for years, but the pain has recently intensified again with increased activity. Everything bothers it. Painting, typing, sewing , working, lifting my arm up and outward, or lifting anything even a little heavy. I want to make sure I contact the right doctor for this. Please advise, thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Your symptoms of sore shoulder;tingling, numbness along hands and fingers and presence of symptoms for few years is suggestive of cervical rib.
But still confirmation of disease requires X-ray to be taken.
X-ray will rule out other orthopedic conditions like osteoarthritis.

Cervical rib is supernumerary rib articulating with a cervical vertebra, usually the seventh, but not reaching the sternum anteriorly. It can be unilateral or bilateral.
Treatment is exercise and if not relieved surgery will be required.

So consult orthopedic doctor for guidance.

Dr. Neelam.
