Right Cheek Flat And Not Round, No Pain, Hurts When I Hit The Right Cheek. What Could This Be?

Hi, I think I have a problem,. My right cheek bone is so different to the left. The left is perfect, but the right one is flat and not round. Is that normal? I m scared because I heard a story about someone who had fungi in his paranasal sinuses which grew and has eaten up his nose and some of his other facial bones. Could that be my case too? There s no pain, just the difference in shape and the bones feel different when I feel my cheek. And when I hit my right cheek (the wrong shaped one) it hurts more than when I hit the left one. Thanks!

hello and welcome to hcm forum omran,
i would be glad to answer your query, first of all i would like to inform you that both the sides of our face are different from each other, and it is absolutely normal,
you have not mentioned anything about your medical history, therefore i assume nothing is significant.
As you stated that there is no pain or swelling, therefore you need not worry, neither are you suffering from any paranasal infection.
also, pain on hitting the cheek(right one) is nothing to worry about,
i hope i answered your query,
i wish you good health.

Hi welcome to HCMForum. As you are thinking it is not due to fungal infection.
It is a congenital malformation of the facial bones. The sinuses under this bone
might be deformed from in side and lodge infecion to cause sinusitis and pain to
touch. As it is it is not harmful, but ie sinusitis formed should be immediately
treated. If you want it to be corrected for cosmetic purpose you can approach
cosmetic surgeon. I advise you to practice diversion procedures as yoga medi-
-tation gardening reading and hearing music to get out of the feeling of face.
Besides i advise you some diet recomendations as avoid taking fruits
juices ice cream ice water when there is commen cold to prevent sinusitis.
thanks for calling.
