Reddish Spots On The Roof Of The Mouth, Sore Throat. Concerned
Hi I just noticed that I have smooth red spots on the hard palate of my mouth. I've had a slightly sore throat this week (off and on), and had the flu with an extremely sore throat back in march that lasted about a month. I have a follow up appt with my Allergy Specialist on Monday, but am worried about my recent. Is this something that I should not be so concerned about and wait til then, or should I try to get in with my General Physician tomorrow? Please help.
You should not worry that much. Most mouth conditions
are benign conditions and require just consecutive use of
mouth wash for a 10 to 14days.
What you have is stomatitis and it could be viral or fungal or
bacterial in origin. Most common fungal infection is Candida
infection which could also present with whitish deposits on the
tongue ( oral thrush).
Get a mouth wash such as ''Hextril mouth wash'' and use to
gurgle in mouth three times a day for ten to fourteen days.
If the symptom does not improve, then you could see your
doctor.
Hope this helps you.
Best regards
