Red Lump, Swollen On Groin Area. Why Has It Started To Spread And Inflame?
My husband has a swollen red area, more like a lump, that inconsistent in size & density throughout, in his groin area. It is beginning to spread out in size. This morning it is red & inflamed around the area & with increased swelling . I d estimate it s now about 3 x 1 1/2 in diameter. This area has grown in size over the last couple days. We re planning to go to the ER or Urgent Care today, but what should we expect?

He will require a course of antibiotic and anti inflammatory medicines for 3-5 days.
