Red And Blotchy Spot, Bad Itching. What Is Wrong?

My daughter got a red blotchy spot and it looks like small mosquito bits in the area. It was gone 10 mins later. This was on her back. It happened last night about 11 when she was sleeping but it happened again about 9 tonight and she didn t have any problems in between. She also had a red looking spot on her neck but no bumps there and she hadn t even been in her room yet when they showed up tonight. Itchin very bad.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
From the description it seems your daughter is having hives/urticaria.
It presents as itchy swollen evanscent lesions.
Treatment involves application of calamine lotion to soothe the skin and intake of oral antihistamine like cetirzine or loratidine or fexofenadine.
Hope that helped.
