Recurring Left Abdominal Swelling, Redness Under Suture, Pus Removed. Antibiotics Given. Is This Normal?
hi, i had cesarean for second baby on 12th jan2013.now6th may 2013.from last 1 week i had swelling,redness under suture on left side of abdomen.I'm consulting doctor for that.they removed some amount of pus from that part through seringe and given antibiotic for 3 days.but still i have the same after 3 days.please suggest me for this. is this is normal and it can be cured by antibiotic tablets?they suggest that if still after 3 days it persists there we have to open it and see wt is the cause.pls suggest me.email: YYYY@YYYY
Hello, Thanks for writing in. You give history of cesarean section 6 months back. Now you are having swelling, redness under the suture with pus formation. Such infection under the suture 6 months after surgery is rare occurrence. I would suggest you to get an ultrasound and CT scan of the abdomen if things dont improve. If any thing is really wrong inside then you may get the abdomen opened again. Hope this helps.
