Recurring Boils Underarms And In Groin Area When Bictrem Antibiotic Is Stopped. No Result On Testing The Fluid Discharge From The Boil. Advice

My name is Sahni and I am around 67. I get boils under the arms as well as in groins area. My doctor gives me BICTREM an antiboitc which I have taken 2 times 14 days each but as soon as I stop it within 5/6 days it again comes.
My Dr has tested the fluid which came out of the boil but finds nothing in it. Pl. advise.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

you might be suffering from recurrent folliculitis.

It is a bacterial infection.

Your doctor might have tested the fluid only to find out the organism.

It is important to do a culture and sensitivity test to know the sensitivity of organism.

Based on this a course of antibiotics can be given to you.

Apply an antibacterial cream like mupirocine.

Hot fomentation is also good,

It helps in accumulation of pus, which can be drained later.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
