Recovering From Double Bypass Surgery. Now Have Pain In The Middle Of The Chest. Diagnosed Dressler S Syndrome. Due To Percocet?

My husband is in wk10 recovery from double bypass surgery. His EF is between 30/35. He has begun to have some pain in the middle of his chest that has been diagnosed as Dressler's syndrome. The cardiologist gave hime Percocet for the pain but last night his heart rate jumped to 155. Do you think the percocet caused the increased heart beat and is he in danger.

Thanks for asking.

Percocet is the combination of paracetamol and codeine used to relieve the pain, these are very safe medications with very little side effects if taken in the prescribed dosages.

Very high heart rate is probably not coming from the Percocet tablets, any inappropriate tachycardia in a patient of known cardiac problem should be investigated properly.

It is advisable to contact your doctor to look for the possible cause.
