Hi Tanveer,
Alopecia areata is an auto immune disease and unfortunately we cannot guarantee complete eradication of the disease. Our main aim is to prevent progression of the disease , bring disease into remission and induce hair growth. The treatment suggested so far by your dermatologist is apt for the condition. Other treatment that can be tried in conjunction with steroid is application of minoxidil solution, dithranol or any other irritant like salicylic acid or intake of immunomodulator drug like levamisole. If nothing works, you may discuss the option of contact immunotherapy with your doctor.
Hope that helps. Take care
