Recently Developed With RA, On Humira For Chron's Disease. Are The Autoimmune Diseases Related?

Hi I have crohnns disease one year and taking humira weekly with some benifit. Recently I have developed severe rheumatoid arthritis and started on steroids and methotrexate 15mg weekly. Next week I begin intravenous infusion of infliximab . Is there a link with these auto immune diseases. I am a 42 year old female and I am frustrated with my health. Thank You. JEN

Hi, yes there is a association between the two diseases,since both of them are autoimmune diseases. Possible association between Crohn's and RA have been reported.
