Reason For The Lump On The Right Hip On Top Of The Bone?

I have a hard lump on right hip on top of bone. it is about the size of a quarter and feels attached (cant move it when pushed on) there is no pain but is slowly getting bigger. started about pea size when i noticed it. Its smooth. i dont feel any dimples in it. Almost perfect half sphere. What could it be?

Lump or growth on the ends of bone may be of several reasons. Mostly it may be the tumor. You did not mention your age, which may help me to know the probable cause of your condition.

But, according to your complaint, it is most probably the tumor of femur (thigh bone). Tumor of bone is more dangerous if left them, which may lead to fractures, fever, weight loss etc.

So, It is highly suggestible to meet physician as soon as possible. Radiological examination (x- ray, CT scan) is required to know whether it is a malignant or benign lesion.
