Reason For Pain And Swelling After Removing Mole From Eyes
hi,
my little boy came out of hospital 3 days ago, he had a mole/freckle removed for the white of his eye.
he has had little/no pain at all until today, he has been jumping around abit today.
he is now saying he has pain in his eye as if something were stuck in it like a hair, myself i think that it maybe the dissolvable stitch starting to disperse and with the excess jumping around he may have got alittle hot, and perhaps his eye has swollen up ???
you can now see a tiny incision mark which is from where they operated on his eye, it does not look like it is open, but you can see some discolouration around the incision, yellowish in colour could possibly be healing?
with it being his eye should i take him to a&e

Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query..
Pain and irritation can be there because of the sutures present..
There can be a little redness also..
But if there is any discharge coming excessively from the eye with increasing pain, infection should be ruled out though the chances will be very less if he has been started with antibiotic..
Let him relax and use the eye drops prescribed and if it still persists take him to ophthalmologist..
