Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 16 year old son has been complaining of sudden bouts of ? palpitations and fast heart rate. He has has blood tests, ekg and all is normal. He also has a therapist which he has been seeing for almost 2 years. His panic attacks at night are progressing to the point he has to sleep in my room on the floor. He has had toxicology screening which are negative. He plays videos games yet has no real friends, other than acquaintances at school. I even scheduled a cardiology appointment for him. I don t know how to help him. He is of noble heart, and other than school and home there is nothing more. Please advise.
hi, i feel a psychologist/psychiatrist would be of more help than a cardiologist .. as the ekg doesnt show any abnormality other blood tests are negative..there cant be an organic issue..(i think the physician has done all workup necessary) as you have fixed an appointment visit him.. if he says there is no problem then go for a psych visit..counselling may suffice or he may need to take some drugs.. try to inulge him in physical games rather than video games etc..that may bring a change..
hope my answer helps you if you have any more queries i would be happy to answer..
