Rashes Formed At Injection Site After Blood Taken. Anything To Worry?

This morning I got my blood taken. I ve been getting it taken routinely for the past 5 months due to the medicine I m one. The only thing different was that today I didn t ask for them to use a butterfly needle I recently noticed, because I had long sleeves on today, that I have a rash forming below the injection site. Should this be anything to worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting your question here, I will try to answer it to the best of my abilities.

Its most likely a bruise and not a rash and it happens when the needle hits a blood capillary, causing it to burst. Its not something to worry about, it happens all the time. It will be gone in a matter of days.

I hope this answered your question.
