Purple Welts On Legs, Hips And Stomach. Tender, Fluid-filled. Painful. What Is This?
I sometimes get these purple welts, mainly on my legs and hips, today I have one on my stomach . They are a dark red, almost purple blister with a pinkish ring on the outside. They are tender and look as though they are filled with fluid like a blister. Eventually they turn into an ulcer and take awhile to heel. They haven t been a lot of trouble other than a bit painful. I have had shingles before and I don t think this is it....
Hi there,
Shingles usually affect a certain part of the body in a very specific distribution depending upon the nerve supply to that area. So i agree with you doesn't soud like Herpes Zoster(shingles).
There are two things in my mind what it could be,
1: Urticarial Vasculitis(a form of cutaneous vasculitis,an inflammatory condition of the skin vasculature due to a variety of causes).
2:Bullouse Lichen Planus (another chronic inflammatory condition of the skin).
At this point i would have asked you few questions but as you know its not possible at the moment,so i would stongly suggest to consult a dermatologist because it needs a proper investigations before reaching to a conclusion.
I hope you understand my point and find this answer helpful.
thanks
bye
