Purple Bruising In Eye Socket, Lump Formation, Not Affected Consciousness. Will It Subside?
Hi, I knocked my head into an open cabinet door. The result was a major lump that felt filled with fluid to the touch. Several days later, (maybe, 4) the lump has decreased slightly, but now I have a black eye that is swollen but doesn't hurt. BTW, I don't feel that I have lost any cognitive skills due to the accident.
My question: How long till the purple bruising goes away from my eye socket? Also, since I don't feel the knock in the head has caused me any detriment to my consciousness nor any problem with my ability to think about complex subjects, must I go to the doctor? Or, will this most likely subside?

hello,
as you had a blunt trauma, it caused a black eye.check once whether you are able to move your eyes in all direction.if all ok and no visual problem then its ok if you do not visit a doctor.
purple bruising is a clotted blood which will resolve on its own slowly it takes atleast 5-15 days depending upon size.
mean while you can also do hot fomentation which will hasten recovery
