Purple and black spots on face after burn. Swollen lips and eyelids. Why is the skin darkening?

I was at a birthday party when two of my friends caught fire. They were lighting up the birthday candles when the fire caught the helium balloons and they burst out. My friends faces, hands and hair were burnt. Doctor said the burns aren t severe and it won t leave scar . But one of my friend just mentioned purple and black spots appearing on her face. Is this a sign of the skin healing? Her lips and eyes lids have swelled as well. Why is the skin darkening? Is this temporary? Please enlighten me on this. I m really worried for them. Kindly reply soon.

hi im dr satya welcome to health care magic.
a birthday party and helium balloons bursting up resulting in burns.
explosions in such cases causes fire to spread rapidly and if there are any inflammable material then it gets worse.
here in this case it seems that the fire was for a short time but close to the body, and spreading downwards, causing the burns over the face and hair.
also the degree of burns is probably in the first degree.
swelling of lips is temporary and will reduce in a couple of days.
skin darkening is due to superficial burn and will last for a few days before it merges with the skin color.
all of these swelling and darkening are quite temporary and your friends will soon find themselves comfortable.
feel free to communicate.
thank you dr satya
