Pulled Lower Back Muscle. Applying Cold Packs, Taking Generic Aleve. What Else Should Be Done?

I think I pulled a lower back muscle on the left side. Ten days ago as I was getting out of a dining chair, I turned and felt something. It has been very painful and now comes and goes. I cannot bend to the left very well. Too much sitting or standing makes it worse. Walking a little helps. I don't appear to have any other symptoms. I have applied cold packs and took generic Aleve for about 5 days. I am female, 71, exercise 6 days a week, a little overweight. What else can I do?

Hi,
It seems that you might be having heavy strain due to twisting injury.
Go for pain reliever with muscle relaxant medicines.
Apply analgesic, muscle relaxant cream locally.
Ok and take care.
