Eat four small meals a day
No fasting or feasting
Avoid--sugar, sweets, maida products including white bread, white rice, sweet fruits like bananas, mangoes, grapes, custard apples (sitaphal) and chickoos.
Take only half spoon of salt a day or take low sodium salts (contain 16% instead of 40% sodium).
Avoid -red meat, chicken with skin, egg-yolk, fried foods, butter or ghee.
Include fish, egg-white, chicken without skin if non-veg.
Assorted pulses and legumes if vegetarian--beans, rajma, kabuli chana
Take only 5tsf a day of any good cooking oil--olive, rice bran, soya, til (sesame) or mustard.
Take whole wheat bread and chappattis, brown or unpolished rice, oats cereal, three helpings of non-sweet fruits, a big bowl of mixed salads, plenty of cooked vegetables(less potatoes), and mixed sprouts.
