Prolonged Periods Cycle, Several Blood Clots, Severe Pain. Tubectomy Done. Treatment?

Hello, I started my period, & it had always been normal, as it was this time. However, 1-2 days ago when I Shuld have been stopping, the bleeding has become non-stop w/ several clots from small to quarter size. Along w/ unbearable pain. This is day nine, & I m usually done after 5-6. Should I be concerned? I m 31 yrs old, 2 kids, & had my tubes tied 10 yrs ago.

hello.
Thanks for the query.

You obviously need to be concerned because any bleeding of more than 7 days is considered to be abnormal.

Considering your age, most common likely diagnosis could be a fibroid uterus.

Other differentials include fibroid polyp , adenomyosis or DUB(dysfunctional uterine bleeding)

Get an USG done for diagnosis .

You can take NSAID for symptomatic pain relief and

tab tranostat for immediate control of heavy bleeding.

Consult your Gynaecologist for further treatment plan.

hope this helps.

regards,
Dr Nilofer
