Problem Of Recurrent Swelling On Lower Lip, Right Cheek, Lower Jaw, Salivary Glands Are Normal. What Is The Problem?

Hello doctor, I am a male 26 yrs old. I have a problem of recurrent swelling sometimes on lower lip , sometimes on right cheek or right side of lower jaw. The timings of swellings are not fixed. The swellings do subside after around 24 hours. One of the doctors said that it might be allergy to certain foods. The other doctor says that there might be a blockage in the salivary glands. But after I detected this swelling on my lower face yesterday evening, I got sonography done today morning. But the reports say that salivary glands are normal. What is the problem?

Thanks for using HCM.

Your symptoms could be due to allergy to some food item or things. you can find out that by observing appearance of swelling and taking any food stuffs. for which you need to avoid that food stuff.

one more possibility could be obstruction to salivary gland flow. it is better detected in sialography. sonography may not detect any stricture in salivary duct.

Hope i have answered your query, have a good health.

Regards
