Dentist 's  Response
You may have dental caries which has resulted in the pain. Consult your dentist to determine the extent of caries by an X ray. If the caries is deep the tooth should be root canal treated and capped. If the tooth is destructed largely it has to be extracted. pain killers can relieve pain temporarily only.

Dentist, Endodontics Dr. Manisha Rao's  Response
Hi, sometimes there may be pain in the jaws without any cause. This is called Idiopathic pain. Please take anti inflammatory medicines like Tab Combiflam twice a day for 3 days. I would suggest you to go for a dental OPG and consult a dentist if the pain doesn't subside. Take care!

Take a good painkiller and go to a dentist. You will need an x-ray which takes around 10 minutes and after that one can decide what the problem is. If it is caries then you will need root canal treatment.

During toothache you need to avoid cold and sweet foods as it is known to aggravate your pain. Keep a pinch of salt in the problem area and you shall find a good amount of relief.
