Pricking Sensation In Eyes, Dryness, Redness. Taken Toba And Cromal Drops. Sufficient?
My maid complained of pricking sensation in eyes and watery eyes a week ago. After a dose of toba and Cromal drops she was fine then again but again has same sensation. Showed to an ophthalmologist 2 days ago who said she is fine but has dryness and lack of tear production . Dilated her eyes and checked for everything incl infection and gave her extralube drops. But her eyes are red today and same pricky sensation. Pls advise
Hello Smiti...
The symptoms suggest that your maid might be having Conjunctivitis.
It is caused due to allergic or infective etiology.
Management includes:
1. Artificial tear drops every 4th hourly.
2. Antihistamines to provide symptomatic relief.
3. Steroid eye drops to be used if it is allergic in nature.
4. Antibiotic eye drops to be used if it is caused by bacterial infection.
5. Analgesics like paracetamol to relieve pain(if any).
If symptoms still persist, it will be better to consult an Ophthalmologist & find out the exact cause of the symptoms.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care.
