Previous Thumb Fracture Not Healed Properly, Throbbing Pain From Impact. Treatment?

Hello , My name is Kim.
I broke my thumb close to 20 years ago. Was in a cast for about 6 weeks. It never healed correctly. I can feel a bone sticking out on the inside ( between thumb and index finger) on my thumb.
It never really gave me problems until recently. I bump the bone on almost everything I grab. I hit it hard 2 times 2 days age and it still hurts and I can barely move it. It gives me shooting throbbing pain. Is there anything that can be done this many years later?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
First thing is to get it X rayed and assessed by an orthopedic surgeon. The malunited fracture gives rise to secondary arthritis in the small joint in the thumb which needs to be treated with appropriate medicines (anti-inflammatory/analgesics). On x ray it will be possible to decide the further treatment, whether surgical reconstruction for correction of deformity possible or not
