Hi. I have been having inner ear pressure for almost two weeks. It started as vertigo and after being in the ER they tested me and all tests came back fine. I went to an ENT last Friday and he is not sure what's going on. He did the Epley Maneuver, but no luck. Over the weekend I rested, did not look up or down and slept on 3 pillows at night. The vertigo was much better, but the pressure remained. I started taking five 10mg Prednisone pills per day and by the end of yesterday the pressure in my ear felt better. This morning, in the shower, vertigo hit again, although it resolved itself in an hour rather than a few hours. Unfortunately, the pressure is back up and there is now a little ringing going on. My doctor said an MRI might be in order---I see him on Friday. I guess I'm wondering if this is something that should resolve itself rather quickly or am I being impatient. Prednisone is not a nice drug, so I surely don't want to be on it any longer than I have to. I'm also concerned that I'm going to lose my hearing. I'm 61 and in overall great health and don't take any medications.
